Private pension / private pension fund

When you find a job, your employer will often offer contribute to a private pension fund.

The question that arises and why it is difficult to find a simple and clear including the forums of expatriates is whether it is worthwhile to join if you want to stay in UK few years but not until his professional retirement.
I do not give a definitive answer on the subject or the financial advisor play here but the main elements of information that I gathered.

The advantages are obvious:

- No taxes on these savings

- Employer contribution often exceeds that of the employee, for example you are asked to set aside 2.5% your monthly gross income and your employer is going to contribute up to 5% ...

points "negative"

- The bottom is used to fund your retirement and will be accessible until you have between 55 and 65. Unable to unlock money meantime except for death ...

In addition, the contribution from your employer obviously stop the day you change jobs and it is apparently possible to continue to contribute to the plan after 5 years you have left British soil (you are more "resident", no matter whether you're back in France or party in another country). If you are the resi UK, the next employer will offer a new plan and new conditions and you can usually combine the two funds to simplify management.

- Tax Complexity: If you worked a few years and Britain have made good savings and have continued to make some payments thereafter, the relationship with the French tax authorities is not very clear (this retreat Additional purchased abroad it is subject to income taxes or French she enjoys tax benefits in which it was originally purchased) ... especially since all this has plenty of time to change in 30 or 40 years ...
See this link to give you an idea problems that may arise: http://www.worldofproperty.co.uk/legal_&_ financier -235. Htm

Some interesting links (always from the perspective of a British emigrating but that applies in any case for any European who has one of these plans and changing tax residence): http

Lan's Catamaran Plans

I keep the little briefing on academic exchanges inaugurated by Thibaut.
I left the same year as him, so last year at the University of Kobe for a period of one year.
The partnership with the University of Kobe is one of the oldest established with our university, which, unlike at UCF, has the main consequence of facilitating the registration procedures. You will therefore not be bothered.
The UFR is the host Kokusai bunka gakubu, which can result in UFR intercultural studies. Academic Faculty cutting is quite different from that of France, it should probably make some clarification on the Department itself and what we are doing.

UFR, first, recently refurbished, the buildings are brand new and the library is very well supplied. 3 floors of books which we must add the libraries of other Faculty course accessible to All exchange students (including Saturdays and until 20h or 21h I think). The general equipment of the UFR is all that is modern, thirty computers in the library, 3 rooms in any info.
conditions of study and research sources, especially those writing during the brief exchange tent, are optimal, but the conditions of life outside school can not rest because there is a UK , open from morning till night, very good and cheap (about 400 yen for a meal), 2 handsets, sports facilities nearby ...

The UFR is divided into several sub-ufr (company modern language and communication, cultural studies ...), and the number of courses taken in a sub-ufr somehow defines your specialty. The courses are very varied, sociology, politics, history, linguistics, foreign languages, economics, management of art ... It would be very surprising not to find courses that match your interests or even that are related to your dissertation topic.

courses are of two types: " zemi " and lectures. The first is, in my opinion, the most interesting for two reasons. On the one hand for Japanese during these courses somewhat resemble our TD in France, you are obliged to speak and to review the topics covered. Share your quality of ryûgakusei , you will be automatically applied in fact almost every week to wear the famous "outsider" and thus sustain the debate. It should therefore read the book or document in question and be an almost stalled on the issue, so there's no better way to work her oral ... Secondly because if zemi is interesting in itself, the "outside" of the zemi is equally important. It consists of a group of two to twenty students (depending on the popularity of the professor and the course) and the teacher. Members of this group does not generally know in the beginning but, debates and group work helps, affinities are created very quickly to become a group of friend. It is during these zemi you'll certainly knowledge and your first friends, and you'll be invited to participate in all sorts of civic projects and student parties. The zemi are interesting not only academically but also in human terms.

can also take courses in Japanese, unlike in the Faculty who are themselves in Japanese, the ryûgakusei center. It is a center where all the exchange students must pass a proficiency test in order to distribute the courses offered. If you are at the highest level (which you will anyway because it is at most the level required for Level 2 of JLPT), you'll be free to follow or not these courses. I advise you mainly two, one being drafted where one must write shôronbun every week and insist on the key points of the essay in Japanese, and another called "multimedia" where you look and analysis of documentary on social issues, simple but effective language to listen to the "journalism".
You heard the ability to validate all these seminars and language courses.

For housing, since I was in a private apartment I can not find out about the dormitory available to students of Paris 7, but Florian, who has also benefited from this exchange, you should talk about before long ...

The balance of this trip is, in my case was largely positive and know that I do strongly encourage you to try this exchange within the university. Kobe is a city very pleasant, neither too large nor too small, is ideally situated (45 minutes to Kyoto, Osaka and 30 minutes to 1 hour Nara) and is dominated by Mount Rokko, a place that offers a truly magnificent view over the whole Kansai Bay and the island of Awaji.
There's still so much to say ... I've probably also forgotten something important or that you need more information, leave, if that were the case, questions or comments and remarks I will answer with pleasure.

Norway Drivers License Expensive

Other Academic Exchange Program in Japan JET

The JET Programme is an action taken by local authorities in Japan that allows you to work in Japan for a maximum of 3 years (1 year renewable twice). It seems possible in some cases to stay up to 5 years.
JET Program offers two different tracks, namely the CIR and ALT.
As CIR (in English "Coordinator for International Relations") you will be assigned in the service department or the town and your task is, among other things, to do work of translation and interpreting, organizing various events or to give language courses. The work will be required seems to vary according to place of assignment.
as alter (Assistant Language Teacher) you will be assigned to the Education Committee within the county or a school you will attend and Japanese teachers. You will also support all the events, clubs and other revolving around the French.
Note that sometimes you may be asked, it seems to teach English.
Among the conditions, you will be among others in possession of a Japanese license. For candidates for ALT, a diploma or any other FFL teaching experience will prove to be a plus. A good level of English is also required.
In 2008, 4 people left as CIR and 4 other people as the alter. The seats are so expensive.
The monthly salary is 300,000 yen which can live comfortably in Japan. In addition, travel expenses are borne by the host organization.
The number of weekly hours of work in principle, 35h, weekends and public holidays are days of rest. 10 days paid leave at least are insured.
The registration form and brochure can be downloaded here
You can also find documentation on the table next to the secretariat Japanese.
The deadline of submitting the application is January 12, 2009. If you are selected then you must make an interview in February to members of the Selection Committee before receiving a preliminary notification in April and a final notification in May. If you have the chance to you from the lucky winners will fly to the Japanese archipelago at the end of July.
Well, good luck to future applicants

Congratulations With Your Mom's Birthday

Find a job in London

From France or already installed, you wonder how to find a job as quickly as possible. On the ground in London, in addition to traditional Internet search, one of the big differences is the importance that recruitment agencies. They are often the key to finding a job quickly and make some of the work of peeling of bids and prospecting for you. Only drawback, many act as gatherers CVs, offering jobs not corresponding not your criteria, or by promising possibilities is unrealistic. In all cases, generally it is better to be already on site and do his research from France for a chance to be taken seriously by the recruiter.

S e make visible

- Register your CV on major search sites employment Monster.co.uk , totaljobs.com and open a profile on the site of professional networking Linkedin . Many agencies and employers do research directly on these sites.
- Search jobs and contact agencies that specialize in your field. Whether it's digital to finance through the secretariat, many agencies are focusing on niches, you find those that suit you by searching on the Web or by visiting on agencycentral

Interviews

Generally, first with the agency if necessary, then with the potential employer. Depending on the size and type of business, number of interviews may vary but is generally pretty fast. Agencies and employers are generally very open question wages, do not be afraid to bring up the subject quickly. Many listings also include a reference to the possible amount of salary for the job.
Importantly, apart from salary, the package or the environmental benefits. Health insurance, retirement, bonuses and various supplements, do not hesitate to ask for details because all these perks supplement your earnings (and we emphasize enough the value of a private health insurance in the country the NHS).

Air Lock In Underfloor Heating

Go

Many students want to experiment with life in Japan. I propose So in this section a brief overview of different ways to go, to study or work in Japan.

A trip to Japan in the second year

For Japanese majors it is possible from the second year of a trip a month in Japan. If I remember correctly, except airfare, all expenses are covered. For more information, I invite you to contact Mr. Yatabe. But I think it will address the topic in class when the time comes. Applicants are selected course according to their results, so much work!

A summer scholarship tempts you?

At the end of the third year it is possible to get a summer fellowship from the Fondation de France for an amount of 3050 euros. This scholarship is of course subject to conditions.
You will first provide a draft study linguistics, that is to say that you will be asked to indicate which institution you intend to study, for what purpose etc. ... All on one or two pages should suffice.
Also you must provide a resume, cover letter and a budget (how much do you spend during your stay?).
Finally you must obtain two letters of recommendation from your professors in Paris 7. Needless to say, the better your grades, the more you increase your chances of being selected.
For more information, I invite you to visit the section devoted to the scholarship on the website of the Fondation de France
Please note that the deadline for submission of applications is 20 February 2009.
You will provide, finally, a report by the end of stay (two pages should suffice). In fact you will not receive a portion of the grant amount (about 2400 euros) is being given to you after receiving the report at end of stay.
Students of Paris 7 are generally large enough to get this award so feel free to try your luck.

The working holiday

visa working holiday "is a visa that allows you to spend up to a period of one year in Japan by offering you the opportunity to work. Of course, the work you will find there will depend on your level of Japanese and other skills acquired during your school career or another.
The problem with this type of visa is that many people often find themselves unprepared penniless, forced to return to France after a few months. It is advisable to put all the cards on his side for the stay is the best. This type of visa may also be used once non-renewable. So far not waste this chance.
Among the requirements for obtaining the visa you will be asked to gather a nest egg of 2500 euros and being in possession of an air ticket or round trip to have the sum of 4000 euros.
To read the complete terms and other useful information I refer you to the site of the Embassy of Japan in France.
This type of visa is a relatively easy way to get to Japan but is still quite uncertain. It may, however, I think, prove to be a good experience for those who can properly prepare his stay.

Academic exchanges (university ICU in Tokyo )

University of Paris 7 has partnered with a growing number of Japanese universities allowing a number more and more students to go study in Japan.
The list of partner universities can be downloaded in pdf at this page . The beneficiaries of this trade are usually students of Master even if some seats are available from the L3. The number of places available is increasing, it became easier thing to go to Japan, although you will still need to show their credentials.
the occasion of the informational meeting on academic exchanges with Japan, I felt a certain frustration with the limited information disclosed. It should be noted the exchanges in question are mostly in place for several years and, as such, it is surprising that the information flow only sparingly. That's why I take the initiative here to offer you a brief overview of what was my exchange university ICU (2007-2008), hoping that my classmates will join me in this.
The first negative point about this exchange is the burden of university application form compared to that charged by other Japanese universities. You must therefore demonstrate motivation.
On the housing issue in the context of this exchange we need to know a place in the dormitory on the campus of the face will not be necessarily attributed in this case involving a non-negligible overhead budget. None of this year 2 students of Paris has obtained a place in a dormitory on campus, but last year I know at least one of two students had been awarded a place on campus. The rent in the dormitories of the university costs about 30,000 yen (just under 200 euros) when normal rents in the minimum cost 60,000 yen.
If you can not be housed on campus (which was my case) you will be allocated a dwelling in Japanese dormitory some distance from the campus since it takes about an hour (train + bus) to reach the campus. I therefore recommended that the brave (like me) buying a bike for the modest sum of 10,000 yen or so. Allow 30 to 40 minutes for the flight.
Note that meals are included in the dormitory where I stayed but there was no atmosphere by cons and no space to "socialize". In the end, many decided to leave the shelter to find an apartment, something apparently fairly easy. It will however pay attention to costs that will result.
Regarding the classes, I would say that due to a reduced number of students (About 3000) the choice is rather limited and some courses are only available in English while others are in Japanese. Cons by the program language is quite famous but very educational! Good point, it will be possible, as a foreign student to choose more or less any course.
I found it regrettable that the university is very much Americanized, which is not necessarily what we seek when deciding to study in Japan. You are now warned!
To put it a bit in college is about 30 minutes by train from Shinjuku and Shibuya and only two stations the college is Kichijoji, a bustling Tokyo.
To balance I would say qu'ICU designed for students eager to practice their English in addition to Japanese, since it is possible to take courses in English and the Americans are not lacking. In contrast, UCF does not offer the degree of immersion that may offer other partner universities which can be frustrating when we landed in Japan. Moreover, as long as you do not stay on campus, the housing budget will add to it all. According to Japanese criteria, ICU remains a leading university, according to some close Waseda or Keio.
After taking into consideration all the above, I leave you free to make your choice.

All children in the world have tried the coloring at the age of 2 or 3 years. Apply the color on a plot is instinctive in humans, making gaps occur or coloring may also be considered a manifestation of human instinct. The gaps occur

would have appeared in both France and Japan in the second half of the 19 th century. In France, it coincides with the advent of railroads. Like children who boarded the steam trains were scared of Hachette had the idea to publish and sell coloring books, a practice that is still relevant today.

Today, "Japan" is in vogue around the world. Japanese culture is growing more and more through its high quality products, manga and game software. The "gaps occur in Kiichi", still popular today, was a great success from the mid-1940s and the mid-1960s. It is designed with great thoroughness and is very attractive. He paved the way for cartoons and Japanese comics.

Today in Japan, gaps occur in adult is very successful. Starting with a historical background, we will present the current position occupied by the gaps occur and its future. It is unknown aspect of Japanese culture that we invite you to discover.

Cultural Events Section Activities Employment

Regarding the employment section within the association, we will focus on two priorities:

- Creating a database of companies and Japanese organizations located in France, in order to contact them and inform them of the existence and objectives of the training in Paris 7. Through this, we ideally hope to bring the academic world with the enterprise and, more specifically get offers for internships and employment.

- The Constitution a network of "old" by the students followed the course of previous promotions. These will share with us their experiences and thus open up avenues for reflection by students about their professional future.

We will progressively available to students at the association members, and announcements of internships, Baito (student job) and employment.
