The list of partner universities can be downloaded in pdf at this page . The beneficiaries of this trade are usually students of Master even if some seats are available from the L3. The number of places available is increasing, it became easier thing to go to Japan, although you will still need to show their credentials.
the occasion of the informational meeting on academic exchanges with Japan, I felt a certain frustration with the limited information disclosed. It should be noted the exchanges in question are mostly in place for several years and, as such, it is surprising that the information flow only sparingly. That's why I take the initiative here to offer you a brief overview of what was my exchange university ICU (2007-2008), hoping that my classmates will join me in this.
The first negative point about this exchange is the burden of university application form compared to that charged by other Japanese universities. You must therefore demonstrate motivation.
On the housing issue in the context of this exchange we need to know a place in the dormitory on the campus of the face will not be necessarily attributed in this case involving a non-negligible overhead budget. None of this year 2 students of Paris has obtained a place in a dormitory on campus, but last year I know at least one of two students had been awarded a place on campus. The rent in the dormitories of the university costs about 30,000 yen (just under 200 euros) when normal rents in the minimum cost 60,000 yen.
If you can not be housed on campus (which was my case) you will be allocated a dwelling in Japanese dormitory some distance from the campus since it takes about an hour (train + bus) to reach the campus. I therefore recommended that the brave (like me) buying a bike for the modest sum of 10,000 yen or so. Allow 30 to 40 minutes for the flight.
Note that meals are included in the dormitory where I stayed but there was no atmosphere by cons and no space to "socialize". In the end, many decided to leave the shelter to find an apartment, something apparently fairly easy. It will however pay attention to costs that will result.
Regarding the classes, I would say that due to a reduced number of students (About 3000) the choice is rather limited and some courses are only available in English while others are in Japanese. Cons by the program language is quite famous but very educational! Good point, it will be possible, as a foreign student to choose more or less any course.
I found it regrettable that the university is very much Americanized, which is not necessarily what we seek when deciding to study in Japan. You are now warned!
To put it a bit in college is about 30 minutes by train from Shinjuku and Shibuya and only two stations the college is Kichijoji, a bustling Tokyo.
To balance I would say qu'ICU designed for students eager to practice their English in addition to Japanese, since it is possible to take courses in English and the Americans are not lacking. In contrast, UCF does not offer the degree of immersion that may offer other partner universities which can be frustrating when we landed in Japan. Moreover, as long as you do not stay on campus, the housing budget will add to it all. According to Japanese criteria, ICU remains a leading university, according to some close Waseda or Keio.
After taking into consideration all the above, I leave you free to make your choice.
